This excellent women’s golfing event commences tomorrow at the Coffs Harbour Golf Club and runs over 3 days, finishing on Sunday afternoon.  Due to the untimely arrival of Cyclone Alfred, the tournament had to be reduced to 54 holes.  However the wet weather has not dampened either the golfers’ spirits nor the tireless golf club workers and volunteers’ spirits, with everyone working and volunteering day in and day out to ensure the success of this great event.  Now with the sun out, everyone is looking forward to three days of exceptional golf.

We are very fortunate to see 132 professional and amateur players from across Australia, Europe, Asia, North America and New Zealand, arriving to play in the tournament. The final two days of the event will be broadcast to over 34 countries via television, radio, print and social media.

Last night they launched the tournament at the golf club, but not before some of the golfers enjoyed some of Coffs’ iconic tourist spots including, of course, the Big Banana, the Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, Reptile World and the Coffs Coast Jetty.

The Coffs Harbour golf club members will be giving extra support to their two local young ladies playing in the tournament, Annalise McKee and Amelia Mehmet-Grohn.  Entry is free so take some time out to walk the course and follow some of these very talented young ladies.
